One of the most exciting and unique elements of Bible Institute is our guest lecturer program. You can think of them as our "all-star team" of teachers. We bring together some of the best pastors, professors, authors, and lecturers to teach our students a book of the Bible or an area of theology in one or two week modules. The courses taught by our adjunct faculty are in addition to the courses taught by our two resident professors.

Dr. Wendell Calder is a graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute and was a pastor for 16 years. In 1970, Dr. Calder founded the Living Waters Bible Conference in Maine, a Christian camp for both youth and adults. Five years later, Dr. Calder founded Local Church Evangelism, a ministry offering evangelism and teaching to local churches. Since then, he has travelled widely as an evangelist and Bible teacher.

Dr. Tom Davis received his BS in Bible from Lancaster Bible College, an MDiv from Grace Theological Seminary, took Advanced Studies at Jerusalem University College, and obtained his Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. He is currently the Academic Dean of the Bible Institute and Professor at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, New York.

Dr. Jimmy DeYoung is a well-known prophecy teacher in North America and Europe. He worked with Word of Life in Schroon Lake for 12 years. Later, Dr. DeYoung became the VP and General Manager of New York City's first Christian radio station for 5 years. Since 1991, he and his wife, Judy, have been residing in Jerusalem where they work as journalists in the second most populated journalistic city in the world. More recently, he received his doctorate from Tennessee Temple. Dr. DeYoung has written several books, produced videos and has a weekly radio broadcast, Prophecy Today.

Dr. Roger Ellison graduated from Tennessee Temple College, Temple Baptist Theological Seminary and Bob Jones University. He worked for a number of years in several Christian colleges and universities and was a pastor for 19 years. Dr. Ellison is currently the Executive Director of the New York Association of Christian Schools.

Pastor Steve Faulkner received his BA from Tennessee Temple University and his ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary. He has ministered as Youth Pastor, Police Department Chaplain and Pastor in the US and Canada. Currently, he serves as Pastor of Emmanuel Bible Church in Simcoe, ON.

Pastor Ken Fillmore is a graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute and has been a Pastor for 20 years. Pastor Fillmore is currently serving as Senior Pastor at Peoples Church in Truro, NS.

Dr. Ken Gardoski grew up in a Polish Roman Catholic background. He trusted the Lord while in college and later became a missionary to Poland with Baptist Mid-Missions. Dr. Gardoski received his BS in Education from Clarion University of PA, MDiv from Baptist Bible Seminar and his Doctorate from Trinity International University. He currently teaches at the seminary of Baptist Bible College in Clarkes Summit, PA.

Mr. John Hoag and his wife Heather have worked with New Brunswick Bible Institute for over 20 years and is currently the Chancellor and on the teaching faculty.

Pastor Steve Hobbs received his BS from Liberty University and an MDiv from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Mr. Hobbs later served as the Dean of Men and on the teaching faculty at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY. He is currently a pastor at Vincent Baptist Church in Pennsylvania.

Pastor David Robins grew up on the campus of New Brunswick Bible Institute. After graduating from NBBI he served with CSSM for five years in Newfoundland. He has pastored for over 30 years in New Brunswick and Ontario. He is the Secretary of the Board of Directors for ABWE Canada and is the pastor of Evangelical Baptist Church in Owen Sound, ON.

Dr. Charles Scheide served as a pastor for over 33 years before joining Word of Life. He currently serves as the Associate Academic Dean at WOLBI's Florida Campus. He is also on the Board of Directors for Philadelphia Biblical University.

Mr. John R. Cross served with New Tribes Mission for many years before starting GoodSeed, a ministry providing evangelism and bible study resources and training. He has authored several books including the Stranger on the Road to Emmaus, and his most recent, By This Name. He is actively involved in evangelism seminars and developing new Bible study and evangelism resources.

Pastor Joe Schenke was born into a Polish Catholic background and became a believer as a teenager. Mr. Schenke attended WOLBI and later received a BS from Trinity College and is currently working on his MA from Masters College. Mr. Schenke served as Campus Pastor and Dean of Students at Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY, for over 20 years. He is currently the Pastor of Counselling of Fellowship Bible Church of Sewell, New Jersey.

Dr. Renald Showers graduated from Philadelphia College of Bible with a Bible Major in 1956, and earned a BA from Wheaton College, a ThM degree in Church History from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Theology from Grace Theological Seminary. He has served in the pastorate and as a member of the faculties of Lancaster Bible College, Moody Bible Institute and Philadelphia College of Bible. Dr. Showers is on the staff of Friends of Israel and has authored numerous books and magazine articles as well as produced teaching videos.

Pastor Bob Snell attended the University of Guelph, then went on to London Baptist Bible College & Seminary. He has been in the pastorate for 23 years at both Emmanuel Bible Church in Simcoe, ON, and then at First Baptist church in Waterloo, ON, where he currently ministers. He has traveled around the world speaking at conferences and retreats in Bolivia, Philippines, and Israel. Pastor Snell also serves on the Board of Directors of Word of Life Canada.

Mr. Gary Stairs received a BA with Honours in History from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario. He taught History in high school for many years before joining Word of Life Canada in 1993 and is currently the Executive Director of Word of Life Canada.

Mr. Mark Strout attended our New York campus of Word of Life Bible Institute in 1982, after which he was a youth pastor for 8 years at Huntingville Community Church in Sherbrook, QC. He went on to pastor three years at Grace Chapel in Sherbrook. Mr. Strout joined the new French ministry of WOL at Parole de Vie (PdV) and served as the Director of the Bible Institute at PdV from 1994 until 2002. During that time he obtained his Master of Ministry degree from Baptist Bible Seminary. In July of 2002 he assumed the role of Director of Francophone Ministries for Word of Life Canada.

Dr. Tom Taylor served on the faculties of Faith Seminary and Biblical Seminary for thirty years as Associate Professor of Church History and Old Testament. He is a graduate of Bryan College (Tennessee), and has degrees in theology from Faith Theological Seminary. His doctorate was conferred by Philadelphia Biblical University. Retired emeritus from his official position in 1993, he has continued to teach church history at the Word of Life Bible Institute since 1971. Dr. Taylor and his wife Ruth live in Dublin, Pennsylvania.

Dr. John Whitcomb lived in China for three years (1927-30) and then served his country in Europe during WWII. He went on to graduate from Princeton University with a BA. Later, he earned his BD, ThM and ThD degrees from Grace Theological Seminary. Under the auspices of Grace Brethren Foreign Missions, he helped establish a church in Puerto Rico (1985-89). For 39 years he taught in the Department of Old Testament and the Department of Christian Theology at Grace Theological Seminary. From 1962-1990 he was President of the Board of Spanish World Gospel Mission, Inc. and served on the Board of Trustees of Grace Brethren Foreign Missions for 20 years. He has lectured around the world and authored numerous books and produced audio albums and video courses.

Dr. Marshall Wicks received his BA in Bible from Tennessee Temple University, his Mdiv in 1979, ThM in 1980 from Grace Theological Seminary, and his PhD from Baptist Bible Seminary. Dr. Wicks is one of the resident professors at our WOLBI campus in Schroon Lake where he teaches both Bible Survey and Systematic Theology.

Mr. Scott Foreman graduated from the Word of Life Bible Institute first and second year programs in Schroon Lake, and then received his B.Sc. in Biblical Studies from Tennessee Temple University.  Upon graduating from univeristy, Scott joined the staff of Word of Life in the U.S., and hosted Word of Life's daily radio program, 'Word of Life Today' which he continues to do today from Canada.  He is currently working on his M.Min. from Baptist Bible Seminary.  Scott is the Youth Ministries Coordinator and Marketing Manager for Word of Life Canada.
